The March 24th show was special for many reasons. For one, my brothers/sisters were in town and in attendance. One of my brothers, Adam who plays basketball for Mesa State in Co. came through with several tall team mates who you can pick out in the pictures. Fresno was a stop on the their party tour through Las Vegas and Mexico. It was also Ricky's(guitar) birthday show, as well as JD(congas). My brother from another mother Marvin, also had a birthday. I lost count but I think we sang 4 or 5 rounds of happy birthday. I have a big family, its not everyday that everyone can make a show, so this was one was for the books.

Here is awall playing Bronsons bass. Note: this bass was handmade from start to finish by Bronson Garza, he unveiled it at the Starline, ask him about it at a show, if you want to get educated. Also, if you need repairs or a bass/guitar fixed or built, he is the man.

Ah, St Patricks Day, the night where everyone is 1/4 Irish. The Guiness was flowing and the bodies were moving at the Starline as you can see from this picture taken from the stage. The Argyle Pimps opened the night up with a stylish set full of fat beats, dope rhymes and some Dean Martin crackbacks. By the time we hit the stage the place was at the tipping point, ready to explode. Throughout the night 3 girls danced on stage to La Sombra, awall hung from the ceiling during SOS, several glasses were shattered and after an especially drunk version of Drunk&inLove, Sean threw his snare from the drum riser and flipped his bassdrum over as his cymbals also went flying. Not to be out done awall picked up his timbales pulled them apart and body slammed them into the stage breaking the metal stand into several pieces. It was a leprecaun massacre....sweaty and sexy, a memorable St Pattys Day that I'm sure not many remembered the next day.

40 Watt turned Road Dogs for a week in March with gigs ranging from LA to San Diego, Phoenix, Tempe, Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos. Getting to socal was half the battle. The grapevine and the tehachapi pass were both closed because of snow....yes snow. Club Good Hurt was great, lots of new friends, a guy on the dancefloor looked just like Cantiflas. Metaphor Cafe was a bit sparce in attendance. I guess when it rains in Escondido nobody knows how to react. They're used to sunny and 80 everyday so when a few drops fall people think the sky is falling and stay in doors at all costs. Some of us partied hard to compensate. Rick got home at about 5:30am and we left about 6:30am to take the 6 hr drive to Phoenix and rock Zia Records to a crowd of music lovers. That night we headed over to Tempe and played our set at The Sets. That is where the heavy pool action began. Some bands chase girls, others do lines, others do lines off of girls. 40 Watt hits the sticks any chance we get. More on that later. One of our fans well.. superfan drove from Fresno to Phoenix to check out our show, we let her make the set list and chose our songs. If you drive 8 hrs to see us you can do the same. Next was Albuquerque, the town most featured on "Cops"...enough said. Next was Santa Fe, NM at the El Paseo Bar&Grill. Santa Fe is a dope little town, adobe architecture everyone, very stylish. The people were great, hopefully we'll be back soon. After Santa Fe was Taos, NM at the Taos Ski Resort. They treat us so well out there we love playing at the Martini Tree Bar. I highly recomend checking out this beautiful part of the country. We stayed in a huge condo with a big buffalo head on the wall that looked at you no matter where you were in the room. We chilled and played spades before we headed down to the club. 16 hr drive home wasn't too bad, good cds and conversation make time fly. Oh for the record awall topped the pool charts with a record of 18-10 and rick was a close second....just for the record.

11/8/06 Sattilite Student Union (Frenso, Ca)

Back in the No and it felt really good. We had a show that night with Pigeon John, Planet Asia and Shake Da Mayor and Track Star. Planet Asia remembered from our days at Edison Hight school and we chopped it up for minute and he introduced us to Shake da Mayor backstage, who has done some tracks with E-40. Pigeon John was a really cool, down to earth guy and an even better MC. His back up band was dope, drummer was killing. We opened up the show and the sound was pretty bad. We were on the mics with the big red puffy wind screens that make me feel for like a newscaster than an MC. The night was fun and the crowd was cool.
