This was an interesting night in Sacramento. Great sound/lighting, great bill, great venue.....but the crowd was somewhere else. It was an early set(8:00pm) but still we expected more. Even my amazing one liners only got a few chuckles(well, I can't really blame them). Oh by the way here is my newest one. "What did the vato in the lowrider say to the Japanese girl?....."Japon....esa"(hop on esa). Although the crowd wasn't the easiest to rock with, we did throw down a slammin set and met a lot of cool people afterwards. Los Mocosos came on and played a groovin 1 1/2 set. I was at the side of the stage most of the night trying to cop a look at what thepercussionist Roberto Quintana was doing. This guy is bad, he has played with EVERYBODY and now mostly gigs with Micheal Franti and Spearhead. Los Mocosos are cut straight from the same cloth as Santana, WAR and other great Chicano bands from the old school. We look forward to doing more shows with them. Sacramento, WE'LL BE BAACKKK!!!!

Well there weren't quit 4,000 people in attendance but it was a dope show none the less. The Starline is always a fun place to just do it and do it well. Sleeping Giant opened up the show at 10:00 and 40 Watt Hype hit at 11:00 or so. The set consisted of new material as well as some oldies but goodies with a twist. We did throw in a cover or two for good measure. By the time Drunk&InLove came around everyone was well...Drunk&InLove(as you can tell by the picture) Sean(drummer) broke out his new and much bigger kick drum that thumped to no end on his solos. If anyone is in the Fresno area check Sean and his trio out at the Landmark. The Starline was a blast as usual, it felt good to return home triumphant after The Roots show and the tour. Thanks to everybody who came out....see you next time.

OOoohh what a night....The Leavey Center in Santa Clara was rocked to its foundation Sunday night. It feels great to say that one of the best shows I've ever seen has been a bill that we were actually on. We rocked a 40 min set to an audience primed for a night of great music. The feeling of hitting an arena full of people upside the head is indescribable. The place was jumping,we delivered a set that was well received to say the least, the crowd was great. The set included standards like "Keep It Together", "Muevete" and "La Sombra" along with new edtions "Animated World" and "Controversy." After our set The Roots went deep, they dug in and gave that crowd more than they paid for. Once the beat dropped it didn't stop for about an hour, literally. From song to song without stopping. They were in control of everything. Thats what you get when you put creative, professional veterans onstage. ?uestlove is so legit and on point. I was behind the stage wide eyed, staring at this rhythm section. For an encore they threw out a medley of tunes that showed their diverse and extensive knowledge of music. Great onstage as well as off. Very humble, cool guys. Its an honor to know that musicians that have influenced us so much have heard our music live. What else can I say, best show ever.....
