The Boom Boom Room SF, Ca.

As you set foot into The Boom Boom Room you can feel the ghost of John Lee Hooker. The pictures on the wall and old timers at the bar could only tell you half the history in that club. It is our new favorite place to play in the Bay. We took the stage to a full house and proceeded to play nonstop for about 35 min, moving seemlessly between songs, not giving the dance floor a chance to catch a break or get a drink. By the end of our 65 min set the crowd was worn out, in the best way possible. Great response, you can tell when a club is full of people who dig music. We got them nice and warm for headliners Brown Baggin, who capitalized with their smooth retro funk and R&B ala the Meters. We will be back in Sept so check out our calender.

49ers the Raider Nation and 40 Watt Hype!!

Thats right the SF 49ers and the Raider nation collided with 40 Watt Hype at Monster Park Aug 13th. The pregame party did not disappoint like Sebastien Janikowski or Alex Smith. The sounds of 40 Watt Hype echoed through Monster Park and for a moment....a real breif moment, Raider fans and Niner fans stopped and bobbed their heads to the music before returning to cussing and throwing beer at each others and their families. The 49er cheerleaders dug the sound as they grooved next to the stage posing for photos and autographs along with a few players. Alex Smith looked like me playing two hand tag in his debut, big bad Warren Sapp made sure to welcome him into the league. I must say that 49er fans and Raider fans are not all that bad, they are egually degenerate after tailgating for 4 hours, and its only preseason.....

Starline 8/6

A&B

The 40 Watt show rolled into the Starline Saturday August 6th with co-bangers Mynis and Beandip. We had a gig at a private party on the other side of town. Just as we were ordering another drink we get a call that we are supposed to be on.....now. So we mashed out to the Starline, set up in record time and blasted off with a set of new tunes and suprises. One suprise landed on Rauls head as you can see in the picture below, we didn't get the pictures of the slips and falls after, trust me you should have been there. Thanks to our boys in Mynis and Beandip its always a pleasure.

New Record

Somewhere in a secret location beneath the surface of the earth, 40 Watt Hype is busy recording a brand new full length album due for release early next year. New bangers are in the works that will suprise even the most loyal 40 Watt fan. Here are pictures of Bronson laying down bass to Animated World and Sean lacing the BluePrint. The other picture is Bronson proving that he can barely do 30 push ups. The band is very excited about some new developments that will be emerging soon.......

Concert in the Park

Monday July 25th we hit Woodward Park for the live music series "Concert in the Park." The gig was nice, we had an air conditioned trailor where we could watch TV, relax and stay out of the heat. A crazy Karaoke DJ armed with a single microphone destroyed several choice songs including Cat Scratch Fever and other appropriate tunes. He was sweatin his ass off, so you gotta give it up. It was a good night, probably about 800 people. It got off to an awkward start as this particular crowd was seated in their lawnchairs, grandkids in hand ready for good time and great oldies. After the initial confusion of what they were listening/watching even the gray hairs were tapping their feet. We had our crowd out in full effect and packed the dancefloor regardless. Thanks to everyone who came out.

While other bands are playing the wine&cheese country of California and coffee shops 40 Watt Hype invades Westside Fresno!! July 16th the band rocked Frank H. Ball, a recreation center where my brother Adam works. If you have ever seen "Fresno Uncensored" this is where a lot of that was filmed. Matter of fact a few notorius people were actually in attendance. This was an event for the community as we pushed the idea of live music in an area where budget cuts have stripped the schools of any type of music program. It was hot but many of these kids have never seen a group of live musicians outside of church, so we had a blast. Nobody does it like the West!!!
